Early in 2007, Advenas Lighting Technologies (ALT) recognized that LED technology was reaching a tipping point in its readiness for use in General Area Illumination.
We introduced design improvements and technological enhancements preliminary to the creation of a business model that would bring LED technology to the marketplace as a reliable, cost efficient alternative to conventional lighting.
Our way of doing business is to avoid exploiting the “lure of new-ness” that LEDs seem currently to engender. Our goal first and foremost is to make quality LED lighting solutions as accessible as possible to businesses and institutions, and that includes setting rational, affordable pricing strategies.
Our analysis tells us that, in this business currently, volume trumps margin. A large number of customers having favorable experiences with our products will communicate their positive opinions as well as purchase other of our products to meet their lighting requirements. Building a growing community of satisfied customers results in a significant and ongoing impact on company profitability.

As with so many electronic technologies, obsolescence can act to impede the wide introduction of worthwhile new products. While LED technology is sure to continue to improve over time, these advances, unlike computer technology where upgrades can render predecessor products impractical or unusable, cannot affect the practicality of existing installations, which will continue to operate efficiently and generate cost savings.
For those customers who wish to remain at the leading edge of energy savings technology, ALT has developed a unique program by which upgrades to an existing LED lighting system can be effected without losing the value of the old system. In this way early technology adopters, visionaries who are instrumental to the introduction of new technology into the marketplace, are not penalized by the loss in value of older but still viable technology.
